Well migraines are a frequent event in my life and I'm just getting over a terrible cold that has lasted for over a week. Of course both the boys got it and this is all in the midst of us trying to finish our basement. We are just doing the finishing work on the stairs and paint. So we are really excited and anxious to say the least. There will be a great post once that project is complete.
We all went to the doctor yesterday. When I told Micah the doctor was going to check on the baby he said, "but the doctor can't see the baby." So he was pretty blown away when we got to see and hear the baby on the ultrasound, the baby is still too small to hear his heartbeat othewise. Everything is going well except that I've lost 4lbs! My sister-in-law really cracked me up when she replied "lucky!" to the news. I guess all the headaches and work have really caught up with me. I'm sure I'll make up for it in the long run though. :)

Ethan's Prayers
Ever since we taught Ethan to pray he has folded his arms like this...
I'll be really sad when he starts to pray like the rest of us. Ethan really is so sweet. As soon as we mention prayer he folds his arms, bows his head into his hands and gets really serious; we're still working on closing his eyes. I just had to post these pictures before he grows out of it.
Here is Micah's impersonation of Ethan...
Migraines...YUCK!
Well two 36 hour migraines in one week is probably a lot for anyone to manage so that is where I am at right now. Luckily they both hit on the weekend so Eric was here to help but I feel like I have lost so much time. I seem to be behind on everything, including my blog. So I'll try to crank out some stuff soon...

"I'll rescue you!"
Our sweet Ethan has found himself, how ever difficult to believe, in the grasps of the "terrible twos." His tantrums, seasoned with blood curdling screams, occur when he is unable to communicate the ever pressing desires of his 20month old heart that we "unjustly" deny him. Like many mothers I struggle to know how to manage my child when he acts out, especially in public. But behind closed doors I callously put Ethan in his crib for a timeout. I have relinquished to such torture since he won't stay in a timeout anywhere else and instead follows me around the house screaming. After one such episode I placed Ethan in his bed and left him to do some other daily duties when I heard Micah yell reassuringly "I'll rescue you!" This is what I found...
Luckily I got there before Micah tried to dump Ethan over the crib railing if that was even his intent. It appeared that he just wanted to keep his brother company and that melted my mother heart. I am so blessed and grateful to have two boys who, despite their endless antagonizing entanglements, love each other and share so many moments of togetherness. I pray that they will continue to rely on and love each other all their lives. The following slideshow is a few recent pictures of them enjoying time together.

Masters of Disguise
Diagnosis: Blog Comatose
A good friend recently apologized on her blog for being "blog lazy" only after a few days of neglecting to post, so that must mean that I have been in blog comatose. Never fear, I have been awakened to my blogging folly and plan to redeem myself.
I'm sure most of you believed I had been swallowed in the woes of early pregnancy and that I was reluctant to eat my words of yore. Alas I have, as of yet, still been spared from morning sickness and everything is going fabulously. I had my first prenatal appointment yesterday and the doctor said both I and the baby are right on track. To my delight my doctor actually has an ultrasound done on the first appointment to make sure it is a viable pregnancy and to assess the risks of miscarriage. So it was so reassuring to see our little "peanut," hear his strong heartbeat and know that my body is supporting his development. Once I get the ultrasound photos scanned by someone gracious enough to let me use his scanner, i.e. Eric's dad, I'll post them so our small fry can be seen by all to enjoy.
Now if you haven't noticed I have been referring to our baby as a him. Here is my theory: if I expect a boy I will be prepared and excited to welcome him into our family of testosterone. And if it is a girl, I will be overwhelmed by surprise and joy to say the least. It's a win win really. But if any of you believe that a little girl isn't in the back of my mind clawing to get out (in a very feminine and girly way of course), you are definitely just as delusional as I am.
So I give my deepest regrets that I have not kept current on my blogging, but I will try and make it up with a number of posts to follow. The succeeding posts are what we have been up to this summer. Nothing too eventful but things I want to remember nonetheless.
